V/A - Soulfunk Sampler [Dae] OUT NOW

[Homepage + News] Thursday February 8, 2007

Review from Primal Records

Nice list of upcoming talent teaming up for a very tasty four track sampler. First up is Blacksoul’s “Back To The 70’s” - a funky number that will make your asses shake, this one is very much in a mid 90’s Joey Negro vibe. Sleazy McQueen is up next with “Troutman Street Roller Disco” and as the name sugests we get more filtered disco funk. Nice bassline and delayed percussion bits are coupled with an old school rap. This is serious party gear! Flip over for Fabio Bacchini’s “Freakin Jazz” which takes Patrice Rushen’s classic “Number One” and reworks it into a nice house groover. Last but not least we have a Spettro remix of Tom Collins’ “The Chaser” which features amuzing spoken word bits about pot over a laid back guitar groove. Excellent!

Check it out on Juno/Primal/Dancerecords and in all the best house music stores
